Now THAT'S a Celebration!

Single freakin' digits!  It's almost time to see my son!  NINE MORE DAYS!

We received the BEST news today - as if I didn't already think my son was a stud, this totally tops the cake.  I can't even begin to do it justice, so I'll just copy and paste the letter Kate received.  The word PRIDE doesn't even seem big enough to describe our feelings today!

I am pleased to inform you that Seaman Recruit Jeremy V. Cunningham, USN was selected as the Honor Recruit for Division 251.  This selection is based on a Sailor's individual performance of duty in all phases of basic training including leadership, initiative, military bearing, response to orders, sportsmanship, qualification of a good shipmate and high overall scholastic standing.

I am sure this selection of Honor Recruit gives you a feeling of personal pride and satisfaction.  I congratulate you on your Sailor's accomplishments.  Your Sailor will be honored during the Recruit Graduation and Pass in Review ceremony at 0900 Friday, August 17, 2012.

I would be honored to have your family present as my guests at the graduation.  At 8:00 am, all guests of Honor Recruits will have the opportunity to meet their loved ones.  Honor Recruits will be presented their award at that time with a short photo session to follow.  After photographs are taken, Honor Recruits and their families will be escorted to the drill hall.  Families will be seated in a reserved section and Recruits will be taken to the staging area to prepare for the ceremony.  Following the ceremony, please stay seated and your Sailor will meet you to gather their belongings.

OH MY!  Not only is he totally kicking ass as evidenced by his constant recognition, he is being specially honored!  And to top it all off.... he has already ranked up!  Way to go, Bubba!

August 3, 2012 Honor Recruits!

Ah, a proud momma moment.  As if I haven't had enough already with that boy.

My cup runneth over.  I cannot wait to see the smile on my boy's face!

Have a great Tuesday, friends.  I know I will!
